Vote for Visual Studio x64 Edit-and-Continue

A colleague in one of our product development teams pinged me today to ask for my support in voting up this request for Microsoft to implement x64 edit-and-continue. I’m sure this isn’t the first time this topic has been raised with Microsoft – but hopefully it will be the last . I went ahead and added my votes. And what’s a blog for, if not to nudge your readers into helping each other out once in a while .

I know of many programmers who use Windows 32-bit on their dev machines purely for this feature in Visual Studio. Make your vote count.

APPHACK @ AU

Slightly late to the party with this one (Kean blogged about this a few days ago), but anyway …

Here’s a chance to win US$5000 (and a lot of publicity) for your next great idea for an AutoCAD app.

APPHACK @ AU is a virtual code-fest to produce apps/plugins for AutoCAD using the ObjectARX and/or .NET APIs, and it's open to any ADN member who can produce a working app/plugin for AutoCAD. The event culminates in a live demo at Autodesk University in Las Vegas on November 26, 2012.  Simply submit your app and a demo video and you're in the running for some nice prizes. But hurry - the deadline for submissions is 11:59pm Pacific on Wednesday, 14 November, 2012.

First prize is US$5000, Second prize is US$2000, and Third prize is US$1000. Ten finalists will be awarded a newly released tablet computer valued at approximately $500.

Submit something you've already written or write something new. The theme for the event is Connecting AutoCAD to the Cloud.
